To approve a document

Within Stiply, it's possible to have a document approved before it's sent for signing. If the document isn't approved, the signing request won't be further processed. This can be useful in various situations. When using the approval function, there must always be at least one signer added.

How does it work?

It works quite simple. You can create a sign request as you normally would. When adding signers, it's important to choose the option 'sign in order' first. Then, add the person who only needs to approve the document as the first signer and select the approval role in the roles section. Afterward, add the signer(s) as usual. The signing request will be sent for approval to the first person before it goes to the other signers. Please note that there must always be at least one person who needs to sign the document.

Below you can see how you can ask for approval, and how someone approves a document.

An example scenario

This can be useful in various situations. For example, when a salesperson needs to send a quote to a customer but requires approval from their manager first. The salesperson can send the document for approval to the manager initially. In this case, the manager doesn't need to sign the document; they only need to provide approval. Once the manager approves it, the document is then sent for signing to the customer. If the manager doesn't approve the document, the signing request won't be further processed.
