Stiply offers a secure and legally valid digital signing experience. This article explains the end‑to‑end process for signers, including identity verification via SMS, certification levels, and audit trails.
1. What is digital signing?
Digital signing in Stiply replaces paper-based signatures with secure, verifiable electronic signatures. Signed documents comply with legal standards and include a full audit trail.
2. How do you sign?
Follow these steps to complete a digital signature in Stiply:
- Receive signing link: You get an email or in‑app link from Stiply that directs you to the signing session.
- Authenticate: If prompted, verify your identity—typically via SMS code.

Fill and sign fields: Use navigation buttons to:
- Move between required fields chronologically
- Enter text, dates, initials, and checkboxes
- Place your digital signature using one of three methods:
- Scribble: draw with mouse or touch (only on mobile)
- Type: enter your name
- Upload: import an image (PNG recommended)
- Select radio buttons if applicable
- Finalise signing: Enter your name, agree to terms, and submit.
3. SMS Verification
SMS verification adds an extra layer of security by requiring a unique code sent to your phone before signing. This helps confirm your identity.
4. Signing tools & navigation
- Next field: jumps to the next signing element
- Download: save the source PDF for your records
- Forward: send the request to another signer with optional new contact and authentication details. This is only apliccable if you're NOT the intended or right person to sign the document.
5. Audit trail & legal validity
- Every signing event is logged with timestamp, IP, and device
- Integrity of the document is ensured via hash codes (visible in the proof document)
- Stiply supports both simple electronic signatures (SES) and advanced electronic signatures (AES)
