Download signed documents via a link

After a signing request is completed, both the signer and the sender of the signing request receive an email containing the signed documents and a proof document. Typically, these documents are attached to the email. However, nowadays, there is an alternative method.

Stiply now offers the option to receive the signed documents in the email via a link instead of attachments. Therefore, instead of files attached to the email, a link is provided from which the files can be downloaded. In some cases, this can be more convenient and organized.

Why download documents via a link?

This functionality is primarily designed to ensure users can work more comfortably and efficiently. It's not always convenient to receive all documents as attachments in an email. Receiving a link in the email from which the documents can be downloaded provides more clarity. It also prevents situations where the email attachments cannot be downloaded for any reason. The signed documents are downloaded via the link in a ZIP file, which means that all documents do not immediately come as separate files onto your computer/laptop.

How does it work?

It works very simply. First, you'll need to set up a few things in the Stiply application.

1. To download signed documents via a link, you'll need to click on "Settings" in the top right corner of your account within the application.

2. In the next screen, click on 'Sign requests and email'.

3. Then, click on "Signed Documents" on the right side of the screen. You will see the following screen:

4. Next, under the section "Download option for documents," you can choose how you and the signer receive the signed documents.

Here, you can choose between "attachment" and "link". If you choose "attachment," the documents will be sent as attachments in the email. If you choose "link," you will receive a link from which the documents can be downloaded. This allows for a distinction between the user and the signer, making it possible, for example, to receive the documents as attachments yourself while sending the signer a link.

This is how it looks

If you have chosen to receive the documents via a link in the email, you will be provided with a link to the files in the next signing request. This email looks like the following:

Note! The button to download the documents may not work properly in some cases, especially with older email programs. To resolve this issue, a link to download the documents has also been added at the bottom. This link can be easily copied and pasted into your preferred internet browser, ensuring that you can always download the documents.

You can always adjust the settings for receiving signed documents if needed!
